How to get around?
If you follow the link below there is a map of the school. Also, during the first few weeks of 6th grade teachers will be all around the school making sure you can find your way. Near the very beginning of the school year there is an orientation which is where 7th graders give you a tour of the building and answer any questions that you may have.
How to open a locker?
To open a locker you first go turn the lock to the right and go past your first number a few times. Then you stop on your first number and turn the lock to the left and pass your second number once and then land on it. Finally, you turn to the right and land on your last number. Now you have to pull up on the handle below the lock and you have opened your locker! You will have two lockers, one for your backpack and school things and another one for your gym clothes and shoes. Your regular locker will be in the hallways and your gym locker will be in the girls locker room.
What should incoming 6th graders know?
On most of your handout papers from teachers they want you to put a full heading on papers which is in your student handbook on page 15. Also, between classes you have 4 minutes to get to your next class. There are many new friends to meet at Middle School and you will have time to hang out with friends before school, in between classes, and after school. Many 6th graders here rumors about 8th graders shoving them in lockers but that is obviously not true at all.
